Meeting of the Romanian Ambassador to Sarajevo with BiH Minister for foreign affairs

The Ambassador of Romania to BiH, Dana-Manuela Constantinescu, met on 22 January 2019 with The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak.

During the meeting Ambassador Constantinescu presented the priorities and the programme of Romanian presidency of the Council of the European Union, under the motto ”Cohesion, a common European value”.

Romania will pay special attention to supporting the European perspective of the Western Balkans, aiming for a new impetus to enlargement policy as a basis for ensuring stability and prosperity in the region, but the evaluations will be individual and based upon the results achieved.

The ambassador stressed that the young generation would be one of the main topic of the PRES RO program and the conference "How to respond to the European aspirations of the young generation in the Western Balkans" that will be organized at the end of May in Bucharest.

The Ambassador said that during the Romanian presidency, the European Union would be marked by two defining events for its future: Brexit and the European Parliamentary Elections, which will shape the future of the EU and which Romania will approach in close coordination with the other Member States and with the EU institutions.
